Salsa is an expressive couple dance with Afro-Caribbean roots that developed in New York in the 1960s and 70s - significantly influenced by Cuban music styles such as Son, Mambo and Guaguancó as well as elements of jazz and rock. Today, salsa is a globally widespread dance with many different styles and scenes.
